Department: Sports Medicine I am seeking a first term as APSCUF Recording Secretary in this upcoming election and am grateful for the opportunity. I started as a faculty member at WCU in 2006 and I am currently in my 3rd term as chairperson for the department of Sports Medicine. Although I have never held an APSCUF leadership position, I have served as a department representative for the last 3 years and have witnessed the critical work of the union at our university and across the state system. In 2016, I utilized the grievance process, with successful arbitration at the state level, to correct a disparity that existed for faculty within our department. In the last round of contract negotiations, I provided a voice for APSCUF to assist with the creation of new language in the CBA for non-classroom athletic training faculty workload. I am committed to being an advocate for faculty across our campus and it would be an honor to work alongside my colleagues within our local chapter.
