Department: Geology and Astronomy

Hello there! I am a faculty member in the Earth and Space Sciences Department. I also have a presence in the College of Education, as I teach all the science methods courses to the various levels of education majors. I currently serve on CELT (Committee for Excellence in Learning and Teaching) and have helped to organize CELT and SOTLA workshops and the current Celebration of Teaching event and have led the Book Club. In 2023, I was a one-year substitute for the CSM on the Sabbatical and Leave Committee, a truly fantastic experience to learn of all the great work faculty do here at WCU. In my department, I am Assistant Chair, Evaluation Chair and work on the Curriculum Committee. Beyond WCU, I am a Regional Director for the National Earth Science Teachers Association and Past-President of the Teacher Education Division for the National Association of Geoscience Teachers. I would be honored to represent my department and serve on CAPC and greatly appreciate your support.
