Terry Beattie

Department: Athletics

I am pleased to submit my name for consideration for the University Budget Review Committee. I have been a member of the West Chester University community for 22 years and have served as Director of Athletics since June 2017.

In my role, I oversee a multi-million dollar budget that includes personnel, operating, and athletics scholarship expenses across our 24 varsity programs. That responsibility has given me a practical appreciation for the realities of managing resources within a public university: balancing priorities, planning within fixed constraints, and making decisions whose effects reach well beyond a single department.

Over the years, I have worked closely with colleagues across many colleges, divisions, and departments. Those partnerships have shaped how I approach leadership. I try to view decisions through a university-wide lens, recognizing that the strength of any one area depends on the health of the institution as a whole. My service on the NCAA Division II Championships Committee has reinforced that perspective, as it requires weighing the needs of many institutions rather than one.

I understand that this committee’s purpose is not to represent or advocate for a particular constituency, but to develop a deeper understanding of the University’s fiscal conditions and to help others understand them as well. I would welcome the opportunity to learn more about the complexities of the University’s budget and to share that knowledge with coaches, staff, and colleagues in a clear and constructive way. Greater shared understanding of our financial picture benefits everyone, and I would be glad to contribute to that effort.

Thank you for your consideration.

Matthew Kruger-Ross

Department: Ed Leadership & Higher Ed Admin

My work as a co-chair of PETAL, interim EdD director, and former chair and member of Graduate Council has given me a broad perspective on how university decisions shape teaching, scholarship, and student learning. Through PETAL and other university service, I also work with colleagues across disciplines and career stages. I would bring that university-wide perspective to the BRC, along with a commitment to understanding our fiscal constraints and helping colleagues make sense of budget priorities and tradeoffs.

Anne Larrivee

Department: University Libraries

I am submitting my nomination for this position because in my current role I am heavily involved in budget-related work. As the Collections Strategist Librarian, I have an appreciation for data and am keenly aware of the importance of financial stewardship. After reviewing the mission of this committee, I believe I could offer a unique perspective during the review of the annual budget.

Zachary Wooten

Department: Honors College

As a tenured Associate Professor in the Honors College, I would bring a collaborative, university-wide perspective to the Budget Review Committee, grounded in my scholarship in leadership and ethics and my experience in interdisciplinary partnerships. My service as a Faculty Senator At-Large and faculty associate with the Center for Community Engagement and Social Impact has deepened my understanding of institutional priorities and the interconnected needs of faculty, students, and academic programs. As principal investigator for grants including a $122,000 partnership with Yale’s Center for Faith and Culture, I have experience connecting funding with student employment, program development, and educational goals. I would approach this role with a commitment to learning the complexities of the University’s budget, asking thoughtful questions, and communicating clearly with colleagues.
